Tell them to sort it well you are french the use of no more nails tape (Exterior red) works way better than the baby poo tape fitted any how
So warm the panel up (you like warming things dont you) not in an oven (unless you have access to a body shop) remove the strip (we use fishing line to slice it doesnot warp the strip or mark the panel) clean the panel with a alc wipe apply tape and strip

Just to make sure, do you or don't you need the amber/orange reflector strip on the side?

Regulations and law don't requier them in Europe, US only (possibly some other markets, but not in Europe)
I did fit them because there is a (undrilled) built-in bulb holder underneath. Therefore either you do not fit the relector and one sees the side light holder with no ligth or you fit the orange full length reflector from the original amber bit that you took out.
should you do that, you can then drill the bulb holder and fit a bulb in there (use a LED one as the Amps need to be very low.
alternatively, one could source clear reflecor to put here, not choose to run the reflector the full length, maybe just the Half inch in diameter bulb holder, possibly, grind it off, bondo the little hole and paint it all etc etc.
anyway, reflector is not mandadory by law but by cosmetic measures.

Did you cut/saw of the reflector of the original part?
Could you also fit this part without drilling a hole for the bulb/LED? And why would you fit an extra LED in there? Do you get 2 side indicators in this case?

You do not have to grind it, warm it up for a bit with the air dryer, then lever it out with a screwdriver that you will have taped on. better, use a thin flat spatula, again, covered with duct tape to prevent scratche to the amber part.
orange reflector may breack, though it will beack in 2 bits, not in dozens so you could still glue it back together.
you do not need to put the extra side light as again, this is for US specs cars (though we have US residents reading this too)l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

If I understand correctly you can also use 2 bulbs in one side, so when leaving the amber reflector out you have both bulb holders filled?

Paying my respect here to VeryDisco for his pionering steps into headlight mods
Yesterday was my second attempt. First one with SWMBO's hairdryer wasn't succesfull. Some tips from my experience which might be helpfull for the next follower;
- I used the oven method. Put it on 80 degrees celcius for about 7 minutes. Allowed me to take the clear lens of in a few minutes.
- Reassembling the unit I used the oven again. 5 minutes on 80 degrees allowed a smooth re-assembly.
- Don't fiddle around to much with the chrome plastic parts and keep your hands clean. The crome comes of really, and I mean really, easy.
- The orange reflecting strip comes of really easy if you heat it up. To cold and it cracks/breaks.
