Yes you will need to fit resistors to prevent the fast flashing and ticking on the dash. The external indicator lights will however continue to flash at the correct speed.

Take a look at page 9 of this thread for a bit more info Thumbs Up

Thank you !

Having just fitted new grills, and light smoked side repeaters its screaming out to remove the orange in the front. I think we will keep the orange reflectors though, not sure on that yet...

Well, an hour and 40 mins and it was done. I opted for the oven technique, after the heat gun did not get anywhere near hot enough. Fairly easy, and they have sealed up better than they were before. I noticed some misting in the morning, now they remain clear after huge rain, and -4 last night. So the front has gone from this,

Hawke grill fitted

and de tango'ed front end.

Have a few more bits done. D4 rear lights and resistors bought but not fitted yet!

Great thread, thanks for the tips and advise. I will order the LED indicator and side light upgrades for the front now. Just trying to find the best deal !

Trying this now but I'm paranoid about melting the headlight!
Our oven crap and don't think it's getting hot enough.
It's been in at 90 for 3, 4, 5 and it's now going in for 6 minutes.
The glue is soft, but it just doesn't seem soft enough!
I'll persevere and let you know how it goes...

Success! My oven paranoia was just that.
7 mins and they opened up as easy as a steamed mussel!
Just got to fit them back in now...

I really wanted all the orange gone but did'nt like the look with the chrome strip so i fitted a clear type strip instead of the orange strip, i also blacked some parts of the inner silver headlamp parts as my car is black... Quite happy with the results...

Finally took the plunge and did my xenons this morning.

Used the Oven method, which eventually got them to separate.

Made a school boy error putting the first one back together, the indicator cable and dropped through to the sidelight/turning light access hole. So I had to separate it again.

Word to the wise, check everything is in the right place before putting it back together.

Very pleased with the look now. Decided to go full chrome and have no orange on the old girl at all now.

Tip for keeping the amber rectangle

First of all thank you everyone for all the notes! Great help!!
Decided to keep the little Amber strip for now. Will go back and remove it later. I plan on going with a clear strip and Amber leds.

To remove the little Amber strip I gently warmed the area up with a heat gun on low. Then ran a razor blade across the 6 spots of adhesive to score them. (See pics..the white spots should show where the factory adhesive was) Warmed the piece up again then used a coin (dime then penny) to gently pry the lens at the adhesive points. Scored again then pried and easily popped off.

I used clear silicone in the same six spots and the tops (very sparingly) to affix the piece back on.

I had the lights out while repainting my bumper so had the time while waiting on paint to dry.
