Any one had the same where yesterday I could not get the key out the ignition.
It would not turn all the way to the off position so I could not get the key out. It was a bit stiff the other day when my wife tried to remove it.
After 10 minutes I went back to give it some bad news with a screwdriver and it turn to off and came straight out no problem!
Any ideas as to if this is a known issue?

Its sounds exactly the same as mine although all I did was to turn the key the other way then back again and hey presto.
Perhaps its the cars way of telling you she wants to play a bit more

I have had the same problem with it sticking.
I think its related to the Autotransmission; I found that making sure the selector is pushed well forward seems to cure the problem.
Anyway its gone away now that I habitually ensure I do that.
Try it.

I have the stupid key problem only when it's freezing outside and the D3 has been out for a long time, so it's cooled off. No freezing outside, no problem...
It seemed that it had something to do with brakes/park brake: you can hear a click sound when the autobox is in P, park brake on, and you release the brake pedal - then you can have your key back. No click, no luck, D3 wants to play more like Ken2463 said
