Sat Nav Compass

If I am in 4x4 mode on the Sat Nav and try and select the compass icon I get the message - no compass available.

Am I doing something wrong?

Go to off-road nav first then into 4x4 info, then the compass will display.
Don't know why it works that way, it just does, probably something to do with initalising the compass
