OOOOOOOOPS I broke a TDV8

Was at Rockingham LRE this morning, had a trundle around Tixover in a TDV8 FFRR.
On the way back to the centre we had a loud noise from the off side rear, thought it was a stone at first caught behind the disc but could not find one.
When we got back the general thought was it was either a CV joint or driveshaft as no stone could still be found.
And it had only done 330 miles Shocked oops

Interested to know how good the site is - I can see the Castle from my office window, but not sure exactly where they go from there.

Plenty of muddy, hilly land around though, so I'm sure you'll have great fun. Let me know if you fancy a pint at one of the locals (before / after).

Thanks for the offer, I've got the 1-4pm slot, so looking for somewhere to get a drink and a snack beforehand so if you've got somewhere to recommend and meet up, that would be great.

errr thanks ken, was kind of hoping for somewhere a bit closer to it.....? Confused
Hull or Market Harborough are the only ones I could find and it's a little out of the way from Tarporly/Peckforton.... Smile

Hi Bodsy,

Peckforton Castle is between the A49 and A549 (Wrexham Road). If your coming up the latter way, then the Pickerton Poacher is right on the turning for the road that leads to the Castle (opposite a Gatso Fixed Speedy Camera Rolling Eyes ) and therefore about five mins away.

Coming from the A49, if you're heading from Tarporley then there's even more to choose from, starting with, and in order of journey, the "Fox 'n' Barrel" (My choice, but about 5 miles from the Castle), Alvenly Arms, and the Red Fox.

The choice... as they say... is yours.

Let me know, and I'll PM you details and my mobile.

Paul

I'll be coming up the A49 from Whitchurch, so will drive past the turnoff to the castle and go up to your recommendation of the "Fox 'n' Barrel"

Will aim to be there by 11:30-45 & will leave around 12:30ish to get to the castle 15 mins before the start time. Want to make sure we're checked in before the driving time so I can get behind the wheel! Smile

I'll PM you my mobile also & look forward to putting a face to a name.

thanks.
