New Service Interval Reminder Tool |
|
Genius idea this .
I ask my service tech to write on a little round sticky plastic disk the next mileage/kilometreage I need to get my car serviced at .It has " YOUR NEXT SERVICE IS DUE AT ............ OR THE ...... OF ....... 20.. WHICHEVER IS SOONEST".He then sticks it the top RHC of the windscreen.
Every now and again , I think to myself hmmmmmmmmmm..... must be due a service soon . I then look at the sticker to see if I'm right.
And the sticker is free/gratis/nada.

I just buy a D3 (or maybe a 4 now!). Then the dealer rings and says your service is due. Then I ring TFC and book it in Disco 5 HSE Lux

Once a sticker has been there a few months you won't even look at it anymore. The service interval indicator pops up when it's required so it gets your attention.
I have a sticker in the Nissan, but a week after it's put there I forget about it. The computer gives me a good months warning.
It's called progress, it's a shame they can't progress as well on the Nissan to fix the suspension . The shocks don't even last long enough to make it between services, so it's kind of advance warning, 2 pairs of shocks = service time

It is progress, and convenient, assuming everything goes accordingly. On two occasions the indicator failed me, err people failed me rather Once, when LRNA changed up their complimentary service interval rules, and another when the dealer neglected to reset the indicator. Both made me have to do complex equations in me head. I think I'd like a computer AND a backup sticky please! I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
