Kaymar rear carrier, anyone ?
I'm looking for pics of dual spare wheels carrier. I have currently a Front runner 1 wheel version but I've destroyed my rear bumper somewhere in the Rekham region in Morrocco. the Kaymar seems like an obvious choice but what you guys think of if ?A second D3 ! This time with all whistles and bells (Auto, 7seats, Diff Lock, RAI, all kinds of protections, winch, Extended range tank, iPod adapter....)
First time twice the same car ! and first time third car of the same brand !

hmmmm... looks really nasty. I see a glorious Discoverer STT but can't see if it's a 265 or a 1245 R17. THe intention would be to put two 265/70 R17 (so slightly oversized compared to the basic mount) side by side. Would that fit ?
Thx

Benoit overall tyre diameter difference of 265 V 245 is approx 3 mm so at a guess I'd say they would fit.If its the depth/thickness of the tyre then any issues could be overcome with a spacer on the mount plate and possibly longer studs to secure them.
If you decide to seel that single mount I'd be very interested

Two STT's in this pic of when he went to Tunisia
This was the pic I wanted to see ! Not because of the digging exercice but because we can see the combo of a ladder and the kaymar system. I'll definitively go for that one !
So the STT are 245/75 R17 and not 245/70 R17... ?

mehari, the larger tyres will easily fit. I currently have two 245/70R17 STT's on my mounts and there is approx 70mm between them. The mounts themselves are adjustable so tyre width is not a problem either.Have a nice day!

Yet, when driving with the big shoes, I'm putting the car on +5 permanent (and +10 when slow driving) and provided you pay a little attention they are just all right. Went to Morocco back and forth and, yes, although a bit worn out, they are still quite OK and ready for the next adventure in an even more exotic place........................ Scotland A second D3 !
