Non Runner (Update - S/w Ver 13 loaded but faults) |
|
After an uneventfull trip to Birminham and back in the rain yesterday and a simple run this morning, it now won't start, or will start but only run on what sounds like 2 cylinders.
There are no warning lights and no message in the panel.
Land Rover Assist are due at 4pm, call was lodged at 1.40 and was told at 2pm the name of who was coming. Hope is is a LR person, rather than a local garage.
Will let you know what happens.
Glad I was not away towing the caravan, as the hire car I get, I guess won't be up to the job!! Nov '54' TDV6 SE Manual 25,000 miles - Excellent !! Don't buy an Auto until you have driven a Manual !!!!

Update: the D3 stood for 2 hours until LR Assist arrived, (exactly at the time they said on the phone) the man turned the key and it started first time normally!! Damn, I wanted him to find and fix something, and then it start first time, so I knew it was fixed or this way, when might it happen again!!
But he plugged his laptop in for over an hour to look at the error codes and load latest s/w. Damn, it now has these faults:
1. Orange Handbrake light on, with LCD error message.
2. the gear selected does not show in LCD (more of a pain on a manual I guess) but related I think to,
3. the mirrors won't dip on reverse.
D3 runs ok, but he came back the next day to try again.
10/10 for effort, I am really pleased with the level of attention.
He loaded the s/w again, no change, he loaded the s/w on his D3, his D3 now has these faults.
He phoned the factory, there are some issues with some of the Disc 13s.
It is now booked in to the garage to load either 12 or a good 13!!
WARNING - try not to be the first person to have 13 loaded unless it had been tested on another car other than yours, unless the fault you are trying to correct is more serious than the 3 above!!! It was when the transmission was updated with 13, the engine update was fine.
10forcash, Have you had the transmission updated to 13 successfully?
BTW it would not run again today, it would start but only on two cylinders. LR assist were called and it then started normally, it is now in the dealer to be worked on Tue. Hire car turning up Monday for 48 hours. Nov '54' TDV6 SE Manual 25,000 miles - Excellent !! Don't buy an Auto until you have driven a Manual !!!!

Mine's a manual - but there is still some interaction with the transfer box ECU and a *lot* of systems on the vehicle talk to each other in unexpected ways. The EGR and air temperature mapping can cause suspension issues for example , this is one of the fixes contained in the latest release and patches
Sent you a PM which may help
