What is the latest LR3 softwear level we should be at? |
|
I was just curious as to the level of softwear we should be at as of
11 November 2006? 13.2 or higher. If there is and upgrade does the dealer have to upgrade or only if theres a problem? And is there any way to electronically tell what level our level is? 2002 Vienna Green Disco II = Hers
2005 LR3 SE Java Black = His

I took my car in to the dealers on Friday for a heater problem and they said they had just recieved the latest update to the software on Thursday and they have uploaded it to my car. Don't know what version .
It fixed my heater problem and it seems to have made the average fuel counter more sensitive as it moves up and down more now when in town and jumps up quickly when in cruise control on the motorway.

WDS is being replaced by IDS.
I think WDS 13.8 is the most up to date version.
104 is the latest IDS release (November 2006) and includes:
* Revised calibrations for V6 diesel vehicles to fix difficult to start, no start, & slow acceleration
* Revised air suspension calibrations to stop suspension leaning when vehicle is parked
For clarity, though, there is no such thing as an overall software version. Each flashable control module has its own revision level. There is no way that the user can establish what software revision is programmed in the transmission ECU for example. You can only do this with T4.
Dealer practice varies; some seem to check for appropriate updates and install as required, whilst others only make changes if they are specifically required.

The air distribution was not right I had to have it a long way up to get any decent warmth out it, I had the other update for heater done a couple of months ago when my right arm and leg where feeling the cold . It all works good now .

The latest mod for heating is a small foam isolator that goes around the temp sensor to the left of the steering column.
Apparently heat was being picked up behind the dash and fooling the system into cooling down. Foam isolator ensures temp readings are only taken through the grill pointing into the vehicle.
Seems to be much better now especially on longer journeys where the vents would start to emit cool air.
Takes 10 mins to install.

Don't suppose you have any pics Simon, I could do with doing this but 10 mins at the dealer means half a day lost for me.
Cheers Zermatt silver 06 reg.

No pics apart from what you can see in the GTR doc.
My dealer did it while I waited.

Hi all,
I know that this is a pretty old post... but is there a list of enhancements/changes of the IDS versions? I mean, we are currently at v1.17 and my car is still on the v.1.15.7. Now I wonder if it is necessary to upgrade...
Hope you can help!
Bye,
Goswin
