New Member - Disco 3 due next May
Been following the excelent information being exchanged on this site for a bit over a month now. Became a member yesterday, and awithin minutes I got answers to my first questions. Great site!
Can't wait for my new Disco make it to Spain (May). Went for the HSE and convinced my wife that the security features on that model were out of this world (we are having our first baby next July, so mom-to be allowed me to disbourse the extra cash for the sake of keeping Jr. safe...). It did the trick, just crossing my fingers so folks at LR have sorted some of the glitches found on previous models to avoid suspicious stares from the wife if frequent visists to the dealer are in need....
Glad to be a member.

Welcome !!
Had my D3 for over a year now and only had one or two little faults. I think most are very good machines and this forum highlights the bad stories and not the good so much.
Yours I'm sure will be fine

Thanks, Simon.
My dad had a Disco back in 1996 and it was absolutely prefect. We drove from Madrid all the way to Nordkap that summer and did not have a single problem.
This will be my first own Disco, and I'm very excited. A nice toy our upcoming baby is greeting us with, I suppose!

but don't forget to give you wife and baby MORE attention than the D3
It will be hard though - but at least the D3 Permagrin will be set in place for your other new arrival eh ??
cheers

Indeed, it will be hard. At least I'll have the D3 a couple of months ahead of time to make sure it gets its share of pampering....

Thank you. Baby's looking good so far. Surely we look forward to welcoming a glitch-free, all-terrain, healthy child.
Can't wait to take him to the contry side, and let him enjoy the views out of the D3's alpine roof!

Hola y felizidades con tu compra!! Always remember that people only post when they have problems with their car. I would never start a post saying "Sat-Nav working great today" would I?!! 2006 TDV6 SE

Thanks. I am very optimistic about my purchase, actually. It was a hefty bill to pay, so I am more than convinced that I made the right choice.
On the other hand, I also think that Spain might be a bit too hot for the D3 gremlins, so I am hoping that some of them will jump off the boat when the car is on its way here.
Other than reports on malfunctioning stuff, the site is great to find out more about it and its possibllities.

New Disco 3 Ordered coming soon
Hi have just ordered my new Disco 3, Base model 5 seat in Rimini Red.
Have ran disco's for some years starting with old 200. then 300Tdi what a difference, then even better TD5 GS with AEC and lots of other bits and bobs.
Bit the bullet about two weeks ago, after having had a run in Disco 3 at local dealer lloyd Land Rover.
But have I done the right thing going for Base 5 seater (all I could afford) will I be loosing out not having Terrain Response ????.
Was also told by Dealer that because I live in a remote area with mostly crap twisting B class roads that I would benifit more from the coil spring suspension.
