Perhaps we'll see a cascade fault brought about by EPB, EGR, height sensors and wheel speed sensors all getting together for one great big cluster of a party. Kind of like the MS Easter eggs, it will unlock a selection of "adult" entertainment on the info screen so you can amuse yourself while waiting for LRA/AA to turn up with a Corsa and a bucket (well if they're going to take the p*** they'll need to take it away in something) I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I bet the first fault will be seen before it has left the dealers and it will be bits of grit and pit marks in the paint. or whatever that thin coloured stuff is!!!!
Maybe a good call with the Infotainment system...? The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Well I hear that they are fitting particulate filters to the first run of cars regardless of whether they are specced. I think that these have caused huge problems on other premium cars where the filter gets choked up and it's supposed to go into a mode that burns off the particles but doesn't.

I have the DPF on the D3 - it has registered as being full a couple of months ago. Followed the instructions for clearing it (combination of revs and speed levels) and it cleared with no problems.The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

This may have something to do with the emmision certification delays that LR had. That was all fixed by 7th September apparently.

Keyless entry... they laid off most of the geeks working on this and now have to engage them as 'contractors' on nearly double the money
BTW, looks like the 3.0 badging has been deleted.... well that'll save a bit of money

Don't know if this occured as a result of all the intense snow-related activity at the great Kirkstone Pass Gridlock event on New Year's Day?
Anyway, I digress. Brand new Disco 3 ('59). 600 miles on the clock. Suddenly "special programmes not available".
LR recovery technician says: "transition box clutch has failed - needs to go to the workshop"!
Went to workshop today. Clever engineers discover . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . a loose wire!
Problem now fixed - all special programmes restored. (Let's hear it for Ribblesdale Land Rover!)
The questions are:- how does the (so-called) most robust 4x4 system in the world rely on a bit of wire and a plug? And how can these 'shake loose' when the car is doing what it's designed to do, i.e. working in snow with a little bit of off-road?
Good news? Despite all the deep snow, ice, slush, dodgy driving, the Disco carried on with normal on-road programme. Sometimes needed the height raised a bit.
Let's hope it doesn't need to see another overalled LR engineer 'til 15000 mile service!
