Anyone else needed a new one ?
At first Service I mentioned a knocking sensation through the steering wheel when at low speeds.
Had to take the car back today so a bloke from TWR (?) who make the racks could test oil in 3 components for metal particles. Well he double booked and didn't show so the dealership had to liase with him and do the tests + report back . . .
So Now I am having a new rack, pump and something else as there was metal in the Oil But that will be two more days farting about in and out of the dealers - thanks Mr TWR if you are reading this.
Just hope this is a one off, as I've had no problems at all with this Disco3 "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

It does seem to be a one off - but when somebody says "the racks never fail" you can't help but wonder.
DG - I'm in the cheap seats, seems specking the 09MY XS up to SE spec does have it's avdantages "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

There is a TSB for replacement seat rails so it's not the end of the world...would have thought they would have sorted them out by 09's though
Have to keep an eye out for the steering issue ....what are the symptoms ? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Seat's fine on my 08.5
Steering seems ok, from memory
New transfer box, all auxilliary belts, pulleys and tensioners replaced, and currently having cambelt and tensioners done.
No, I don't think they've ironed out the problems yet
On the plus side, Yeovil don't have get stuck in I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I had my steering rack replaced under warranty at the 45K service/MOT. I complained about play in the steering when driving at speed on the motorway and the fact that ruts in the road had an effect on the direction I was steering. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE
