So RLD pops round with my new spare wheel protector - the Disco is in the garage and as we whizz off to the garage to get him some cash out (which I think he will admit he was struggling to keep up with the wife's Punto! ) I leave the boot open, hence lights on and keys in the ignition.
Come to lock the garage up and then realise what I have done.
Bloody flat battery - parked nose in - no chance of running jump leads to the front.
My first call to LRA - sat here waiting slightly ashen faced - think I may die of embarrassment/stupidity when the fella turns up!
won't do that again will you

What - leave the key in - or park it nose first in the garage?

press the middle button above the mirror - this cans the lights whilst the doors are open - car will still be 'alive' though so juice will still be being consumedSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

The issue is not with the lights on, as they switch themselves off after 20minutes, the issue is the key in the ignition which leaves the gadgetry on Bodsys Brake Bible
