Hi, im new on here, just purchased a disco 3 TDV6 on an 05 plate, got full L/R service history and only done 60k, i wonder if any of you guys could give me a bit of advice?
Car has run lovely since purchase, all of a sudden it has lost all power till it hits 2000 rpm then takes off like a scalded cat. Any ideas? I look forward to your help

Hi Lee
Welcome to the site. I agree with Zig it sounds a lot like your EGR valves are to blame or a split intercooler hose. Does it produce a lot of black smoke when it does this and does it do it everytime you put your foot down? Try doing a search for EGR failure or EGR blanking, there will be loads of post about it including a DIY fix for the problem. Good luck. Club Exped trailer

Hi, thanks for advice, i have ordered a set from BAS online, ENT, thanks for that, it does produce a lot of black smoke when it suddenly takes off, if i keep it above 2000-2200 rpm it goes like a steam train, below that and its as if i need to get out and push, fingers crossed the blanking kit will rectify fault as it makes nip up a bit when pulling away

loss of power then masses of black smoke sounds just like the common ''split intercooler hose'' to me

Thanks guys for your help, i purchased a blanking set from RST in west mersea, colchester and set about the task in hand, following all instructions i was finished in a little over an hour, car now runs like a dream and seems to have a lot better pull and get up and go, without your help i think i would have been at the mercy of a local land rover dealer and looking at a large bill, so many thanks again.
