Rear climate control

Picked up 06 LR3 SE 7 seater yesterday. It was supposed to have the rear climate control package with second row controls and additional vents in second & third rows. Unfortunately it came with the 7 seats but no second row controls or additonal vents. Does anyone out there have a 7 seater without rear climate control that could give me an idea about the adequacy of the regular ventilation for the second and third row seats? I get the impression that the rear seats would be very hot in the summer and cold in the winter without good airflow to the back of the cabin. Am I wrong on this?

I have an SE with no rear Air Con - never had any complaints and the kids mostly travel in the very back - they just have the eye ball vents open
I think the privacy glass also helps though I suspect our summers are not quite as demanding on Air Con systems as yours

Sandalwood: My 7-seater has no eyeball wents, except those on the front dash and at the rear of the center console. You mean the latter one to be used to let some air for the 3rd row? (I have only found two small grilled vents at the bottom of the windows for the 3rd row...)

Yes - sorry, it was the eyeballs at the rear console I meant - as said before - never a real issue here, but then again last summer never to hot and this winter, whilst cold, never really bothered people in row 3 - car seemed to warm up OK - have you guys got heated row 1 &2 seats in you SE spec?

Mine is HSE but heated seats (front and 2nd row outermosts) were added as an option ("winter pack") along with heated washer nozzles. Trim levels mean nothing when you try to compare them on different markets...

Would it be possible to retrofit rear climate control? Is it just a matter of changing the rear panel?

no. There's a control button on dash (for rear on, off or same settings as front), the roof controls and vents and an extra fan located behind panel in boot at left hand side
