Another daft EGR question
just had the car back from the stealer where all height sensors were replaced and the LHS EGR valve replaced. It was only the left valve replaced as that was all that showed up as a fault code. Asked the workshop foreman when the right one would die and he said could be two days, two weeks or two years. Anyone had experience of one valve being replaced and them the 2nd one failing??? Dealers says he can't replace the RHS one unless there is a fault code.
Thoughts???

and then I blanked both off, so doesnt matter if they "fail" now, as they're not doing anything.

My dealer replaced both egr valves even though only the right hand one was faulty, they told me that as there was a modified version available both could be changed to prevent a future failure! Maybe you could press your dealer a little further with this as Land Rover are obviously are aware of problems hence the modifications!!!

I had only one fail last month, but the dealer replaced both under warranty.
My dealer only replaced one of my EGR valves despite there being a new design available that would reduce the likelihood of future failure. Replacement was done about a year (~25k miles) ago and both are still fine as far as I know.

Mine is going in again in 2 weeks to a different dealer with same symptoms (mpg way down as well as power), will see how they get on. Going to Frank Ogg in Elgin rather than MacRae & Dick in Inverness, gone off M&D for various reasons.
