LAND ROVER RECALL: REPLACE FUEL TANK

I have just collected my G4 from my local LR dealers for some small jobs and they have told me to bring it back next week to replace the fuel tank. Apparently this is a LAND ROVER recall campaign on certain V8 Discovery 3 models.
Is this a new campaign? Has anybody else in other countries had to do the same? Obviously it will be carried out F.O.C. Just as well they told me because I was going to fit my RASTA underbody protection this weekend! Rolling Eyes

Thanks Wiggs, I tried a search but didn't find anything.

I am surprised that this was never carried out by LAND ROVER as the car belonged to them up until 2 weeks ago.

I guess the G4 vehicles were just locked up in a barn somewhere after they had served their purpose in the 2006 G4 Challenge. Sad

Strange that yours wasn't done because according to the LR computer system that I could see at my local dealer that mine was done.

So mine was done in March 2008. at least a fuel tank breather.

If it's anything else please let me know.

Well, they looked it up in the database and mine was never done. I am having a complete new tank, not just a filler or a pipe. While it's free I'm not going to complain Whistle

Can't they put it on the other side so you have 2 tanks? Laughing
