LED Bulb recommendations??
I ftted a pair of these 501 front sidelights to the 05 - and whilst they are OK they arent as bright as I had expected/hoped - also because they seem to be quite directional they don't engage the reflector much - the light is therefore only really bright when viewed from exactly head-on.
Can anyone recoomend any BRIGHTER bulbs - with 180 degree + coverage so the reflectors pick up some of the light? - and also some tail light/brake light replacements for the exisiting incandescent LR types?
both work really wellTintenter

Dealmaker,
also forgot to add if you have the active front headlights with the turning lights front LEDs may start to fail or flash after a while due to the heat of the turning lamps, ended up changing my turning lamps to LED also.Tintenter

tintenter, I bought some of those 501's you mentioned from ultraleds.co.uk
They all failed within a couple of months, either flickering or individual led's failing one by one. Happened to the ones I put in the number-plate housing as well, so can't be a heat issue? I know some others had trouble with these and dealing with ultraleds.co.uk is a waste of time - very rude.
Looking for another solution now...

Also - how did you wire up your second bulb so that it also worked as a brake light??
Thanks!

Dealmaker,
yes those should be ok as well, to connect the second brake light i followed what someone else did by taking out the contact from one of the holders and making copies of it, then soldering a length of wire to it and then splicing it into the existing brake feed (white wire i think), they work really well with the LED bulbs.Tintenter

These are nice and bright. Also are the only multi-LED bulb I've found that fits through the hole in the lamp. Good price and fair delivery time
Bit of feedback on these.
Maybe I was just unlucky but I ordered 2 pairs of these and when they arrived two of the internal resistors have come loose from the circuit board - rendering them useless. If this can happen in the mail then I worry about the long term integrity of these units in a ruff and tuff LandRover.
My search for brighter LED sidelights therefore continues!!!
