EPB Squeal - Dealer won't do under warranty
Car in today for a long list of glitches to be fixed including the EPB. Nice lady on service reception said that LR are no longer covering EPB adjustments etc under warranty due to the high number of incidents
Now really come on, if LR are getting a high number of incidents should that tell them that a redesign/recall is needed rather than washing their hands of it and making the customer pay
It comes down to the 'fit for purpose argument' in my book.Has anyone challenged this with LRCS and if so was it successful? I can't afford to pay for it resetting once a month which is likely under the current system and I am damned if I have the time/skills/inclination to do it myself.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

ISTR that someone did successfully challenge this with LRCS. Can't remember whom - think the search facility is your best bet Andy.
Good Luck

I think the issue is that LR will no longer pay the dealer for doing this after a certain age or mileage, so you have to rely on the goodwill of them to do it for you
Dealer goodwill - limited choice then.

Stealers have been instructed to take a harder line with the squealing issue ...
... and rumour has it the D4 is to be called the Deliverance.

As long as they don't ask you to squeal like a piggy The EPB does that on it's own.
My last squealer was fixed by my dealer, but I had to pay for it. A simple clean up was all that was needed.

if you have a good servicing dealer then they will do it foc if they've got it in for something else when they have to have the wheels off anyway like a service or something similar? I've been lucky with mine timing-wise when it's needed "a pint of old grumble gut please, in a glass with a handle" maybe? ( on the four or five times over the 3 and a half years I've owned it )and theeeeennn......???

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
