JKP Detail - Site Sponsor |
|
Not quite sure where I should have put this. Mods please feel free to relocate to where you think it should go (not the bin tho' )
As of yesterday, JKP Detail are now a site sponsor and I'm pleased to offer detailing and general car care products at a favourable rate for registered D3 forum members. I stock everything from Clay, sealants, wax to microfibre drying towels and pH neutral shampoo. Discounts will be around 10% off RRP on the site exc. P&P
Have a look at my site www.jkpdetail.com and if there is anything that you would like or wish to know more about then please drop me a PM.
I also offer a detailing service, but at present this is on hold due to an ankle injury, but I hope to get this up and running before the winter sets in and offer winter protection details. I'm at the mercy of a very nice physiotherapist at the moment. Once I get the all clear for work, I'll post more details on this.
...John

Hi John,
Good luck with your new venture. Which part of West Lothian?? Used to live in Livinston for several years.
Will go and have a look at the web site for sure.

Thanks for the kind word chaps The ankle is needing some rehab. Avoided surgery, but the MRI came back with a tear in the achilles and nerve damage. Hopefully get it sorted between 6-8 weeks.

Short of polishing it out, you can use a filling compound to 'fill' the surface scratches. Poorboys glaze such as White Diamond or Black hole is good for this, but you need to seal it in after you use it with a wax or sealant. This will keep the scatch 'filling' in place for a couple of months, as long as the sealant layer is in good nick.
Scratch 'x' type materials are good, but a lot of graft to work properly. Really needs a machine polish.

I was going to post the same question as Hobgoblin.
I Have some light scratches so from your description was leaning towards the Poorboys Polish. But which one for Stornoway Grey?
Good luck with the new venture

Poorboys Black Hole and either Ex-P sealant or a wax to seal the filler/glaze to the surface.
The only important thing to remember is to have a proper clean surface before it's applied.

Somewhere else....dont let the door hit your backside on the way out !!!!
Do a google search, there are only a couple of places that can supply in the UK. I've used it a fair bit and it's not any better than Poorpboys Ex-P, Zaino or a good paste wax.
I'm sure it's supplied by Chemical Guys and Clean and Shiny.

I will have your equivalent though, is it under items in your shop?
Been playing with so many types and some are too greasy, powdery, or leave rings all over....
