Rear Counterweight

Sorry if this topic exist already, please mention. Rolling Eyes

I discovered two heavy counterweight in the rear bumper.
Why are these fitted ?
Did somebody remove them ?
 Disco 300 tdi 1997
Disco TDV6 SE 2009
Unimog 1300L Camper 1980
Mercedes Viano Camper 2008

Make sure they are swinging free and not chaffing any cabling... have been known to cause issues with incorrectly routed tow bar electric's.

Cannot recall anyone removing them... but then why would you want to ?

Essential they swing free as they are what helps give the D3 its magic carpet ride!!!

If they stop swinging yr ride gets very solid and harsh.
