I have a fault with a rear wheel speed sensor(diagnosed by computer), the car is booked in for the 7th for the job to be sorted.
The fault is intermittent and I could live with it, it is now on all the time, I still need to use the vehicle but the systems keep shutting down, again I can live without them, but what is really infuriating is that the suspension keeps lowering.
Is there any way I can stop the suspension lowering ?.
Am I causing any damage by continuing to drive it with suspension lowered ?.

hi mark,i have a rrs that has just had to have a speed sensor fitted 3 weeks ago.Started off as yours has intermitant suspension then, all hell let loose in the snow.Probably caused by the road salt.5 different faults, both amber and red brake warning lights came on.Suspension would not raise, speedo went off, hill decent fault on screen and hand brake fault.LRA reset and asked my wife to follow to dealersas speedo still not working.New speed sensor fitted and all ok now.So yes lra thought ours was ok to drive but the fault did develop.
Dont stray too far from home then. yes i am a spy from the rrs site!!!!

Might not be the speed sensor, possibly corroded wiring around the N/S/F wheel arch, can be repaired quite quickly

10forcash, thanks for the reply, would this still show as speed sensor fault on the diagnostic check if it is corrosion and is this something I can sort or would it need looking at,the earliest I can get it in for is 7th Jan and they want it for 2 days and no courtesy car as not main dealer, cheers and happy new year Mark.

Yes, it'd show as open circuit or no signal from the speed sensor, normally the sensor is tested by substitution with a known good one (usually from the other rear wheel) to prove sensor or connection fault.
I have a spare sensor available and can sort out the loom if that's the issue
