transmission problem

Hi all happy christmas to everyone. I was driving yesterday and noticed
that my gears were not changing. I can only drive it in sports mode. It has high revs but no gear change. This happened to me a couple of years ago and a software upgarde was done. this solved the problem but now it is back again. I have extended warranty with warranty direct i hope they cover this problem. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I read the user manual and was wondering if it could be a fuse in fuse box that needs to be changed.

Not-with-standing the transmission fluid suppossedly lasting the life of the vehicle, I suggest having a transmission specialist change/flush the fluid and filter. Also doing the transfer case can't hurt. Mine proved black and burnt as mud in 30,000km. The change helped.

Wasn't this something to do with a shorted reversing light????

Is there a slight stiffness in moving the gear lever into drive? There is an issue, which has occurred on a number of vehicles, with water from the air conditioning washing the lubrication off the auto box linkage, resulting in drive not being correctly engaged. Have a look at http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic26557.html
