Christmas dinner
Not having the usual Turkey dinner this Christmas.
In fact, never had it ....... hate the stuff.
So, this year since it's almost seasonal, I've just been out and bagged myself a Haggis.
Having it with roast plus boiled potatoes and brussel sprouts.
[sprouts are all mashed up and cooked differently to get rid of the sprout taste - recipe could be traded].
Here's the little babe I bagged earlier.
MMMmmmm ........ tasty!!!
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

We got our order in early for the big day in January. Apparently they have not been breeding enough and there will be a shortage this year
Are you having 'clapshot' with yours? ..... mmmmmm

SN I'm sure it will taste great with some of your new Foie Gras spread on it - whatever it is

That looks like the Highland haggis, quite a rare animal especially in it's winter coat. The Lowland haggis is much darker to help it blend in with the heather and, to my mind, has a much sweeter taste.
If anyone wants to order for January there is a butcher in Melrose, at the foot of the Eildon Hills, in the Borders who can provide freshly caught Haggi although he did say there were a bit rare this year due to the wet weather and he hadn't seen many breeding pairs.
