My Radio's dead
Before I start pulling out what hair I have left and ringing the stealers. Can any one help?
This morning when I went out to defrost the car I put the key in the ignition and the radio panel
didn't illuminate as usual so I started the engine and tried the radio and it didn't work, and the clock showed 15:20. Could it just be the fuse or do you people think it's a job for the garage?
Thanks John

Check the fuse firstly.
No aftermarket car kits installed is there?
Then i guess its off to the dealers.

You could try disconnecting the battery for 5 mins ..see if it clears it ...
Make sure you wait till the car goes to sleep first ..instruction on a sticker next to the batteryG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I find it amazing how many things have the "Microsoft bug" and need to be rebooted to fix a problem.
The most frightening for me was on a Sabena flight from Brussels to Newcastle, just before they went belly up a few years ago, where the audio warning annoucements started going off and the pilot had to reboot the aircraft at the end of the taxiway. I have never been on such a nerve racking flight.
Fortunatly we were on the ground and not in flight at the time.
Had exactly the same happen to ours - spookily it happened on the day the warranty expired. But I just removed the fuse (to check it) and on refitting the fuse the radio sprang back to life
A little simpler than disconnecting the battery LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Hi MrH,
That's exactly what I did last night pulled the fuse to check, and hay presto when I moved the car further up the drive the radio lit up and started to work.

A "hard reset" can cure some computer problems such as this...
Disconnect cable from negative battery pole and then connect it to positive pole with wire or screwdriver.
Beware of toucing the metal holding strap across the battery.
Advice given by service in Melbourne. It revived the radio. Should be tried with any computer funny business before calling for help.
