3rd Row Window Vents

Hi All,

1st post so please be gentle.

Just brought a D3 HSE 08 model and I have a question re the rear air vents.

On our first day we had a car of 6 adults and it was raining outside, the rear side windows (boot/3rd row) steamed up. We obviuously didnt know how to demist them so we left them foggy!.

Now the dealer told me to make sure the auto is selected from the air con unit. We have played with this and can not feel anything coming from these vents, irrespective of fan speed / heat / direction.

Am I mad???

Cheers in advance.

Neil

No.......not the optional one anyway, rear climate control. The middle fans on the center consul (on the rear) blow the same temp as the front.

Without rear aircon ...the blowers stop at the second row of seats Sad

There is nothing below the vents just below the 3rd row windows ...i had the back panel out today ..so i know there is no pipes or ducts there .

When I went out earlier to see how mine worked I don't get any flow out of the second row vents, the ones in the back of the center console, but get lots of flow from the vents in the roof, is this right with rear a/c or should flow come from all the vents Question

Rear aircon ...sends the flow to overhead vents , two small vents on the back of the pillar facing the 3rd row windows ...and a small vent in the boot on the passenger side ( just above wheel arch )

Back of the center console,...i presume its set to auto ?...turn on the button with a picture of facing vents ( middle left i think ) and it shoud come out then ...

Hi,

So how can you stop those side windows steaming up when you have 7 people in the car on wet day?

I assume you can't get heated windows in that position?

The car doesn't have rear climate controlso what's best to keep it clear?

Does air flow come from the vents below the window on any model/option.

Cheers

Neil

I frequently travel with 6 and a dog in the car and can't say I have had the problem with it steaming up.

CC is always on Auto and temp set to between 16 & 18 degrees.

My air con copes absolutely fine on Auto with 7 up even on wet days, both up in the Alps for skiing and in the summer when the humidity is right up....well it keeps all the windows clear anyway Very Happy . I have been very impressed by its ability to keep such a large interior clear.
end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
