For the last 3 yrs I've had AA Warranty on my Vehicles, during a recent service by TFC it was pointed out that rear offside wishbone had a crack in it and was slightly twisted, no impact damage, just looked like it had failed along the spot welds, metal fatigue.
Time to make my first ever claim !!!.
Spoke to adviser on phone and he agreed this was covered get mechanic to call, this was done and Iain called me back and said they had refused to pay ?.
There then followed 1 1/2 days of arguments on the phone they came up with so much rubbish, here goes," it's not a mechanical failure ?", I explained it's a piece of metal with a crack in it, IT'S FAILED,won that one after speaking to 2 advisers, next your mechanic said "its cracked on spot welds, obviously someone has welded it before trying to repair it ?", "THAT'S HOW IT'S MANAFACTURED it's never been touched", won that one, next, it's impact damage "we think you have driven over speed hump to fast", "WHAT ?, are you serious do you realize how ridiculous you sound, I've driven over speed hump to fast in a Disco 3, nearly 3 tons of off road machine and you think I've gone too fast over speed hump plus the mechanic has checked over all components in the area of wishbone and no other damage", "yes", I couldn't help myself -"you are a total t**t put your supervisor on ".
Supervisor phoned me next day, same arguments !, argued them all and won them, all this for how much ???? £190
Think hard and long before you take out AA Warranty !!!!!!!!!

Thanks for highlighting your problems. I had a similar run around with them on my 1995 Discovery a number of years back now. Never bothered renewing that policy, and it really coloured my view of the AA.

Obviously TFC is away at the moment, I will update once he has carried out the work, we will see how quick they pay, my only worry will be I don't want to mess iain about so will just pay it if they play up.
