Indicator "Tick"
Anyone know where the indicator tick is generated from. My indicators are working fine and the flashers on the dash are ok, just dont have any noise. I assume its not like the old relay type.
Cheers

I think it's generated by the instrument cluster.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

The tick is electronically generated ...in fact ISTR a thread that says if you have other warning bongs going off when the indicator on ...the tick noise is overidden. Haven't tried it meself though.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

DG thats correct.
If you have an indicator tick and change the suspension for instance the supension bong replaces the indicator tick.
it seemed a bit weird to begin with, but you get used to it. If the indicator tick isnt working at all then it sounds like a problem. I had an 58 D3 last week and the tick was working on that one Duncan

ISTR the tick and the bings/bongs come from the little vent to the left of the steering wheel. That's also where the temp sensor is for the climate control.

That's just the air sensing port - lower spec vehicles don't have that.... the instrument pack generates the ticks / boings / bings

I have just tried to set of a few differnt warning bongs and it looks like I have lost all bongs/bings/ticks. Looks like I will have to go to the dealer and get them to check it out. Shame the warranty run out 7 weeks ago. Hopefully its not going to be big dollars.
My LR3 had this problem a long time ago, dealer replaced the instrument cluster under warranty. BONGS are still coming strong until now '05 LR3 HSE V8 - Adriatic Blue - Larini Exhaust System - Lamp Guards - Dual battery system - Hidden 12k winch - Rasta Sump Guard
