Has anyone had trouble with DSC cutting in on tyres other than original fitted from new? At present I have Michelin tyres... same rolling circumference etc etc but the DSC is nearly undriveable. It cuts in badly on right hand bends at very low speeds. If I fit original tyres problem goes away. Any (sensible) suggestions.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Are you sure that all the Michelins are exactly the same profile?? The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

This problem has happened since my first set of original tyres wore out at 32000km when I fitted Michelin. Have been back to one set of originals (Goodyear) in between and had no problem. Now back on Michelin and problem has returned. I always get regular wheel balance and 4 wheel alignment at least each tyre change. Profile of tyres (rolling circumference etc) is supposed to be the same as Goodyears.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

had much the same problem ,when i first got the car, checked the pressures and had to top 1 up. |||| BINGO!!!!!
Never bothered with it agian I have enough money to last me the rest of my life.Unless i buy something..
Thx for all help guys.
Tyre pressures, alignment etc have always been my first suspects so always checking them.
Does anyone run Michelins? If so what pressures?
To complicate matters most of my problems happen when right hand cornering.
Its rugged in NZ.... I am drinking beer at your breakfast time? But thats another problem!!!!Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

I ran Michelin Synchrones for ages with no issues. I had them fitted all round. You have not got a mix of tyres front to rear have you? if so that could be your reason.
Maybe a intermittently faulty wheel speed sensor?

Damaged/broken cable that goes open circuit on a right turn? Does it happen at all speeds or just low?
I had a similar thing happen when mixing 2 MTRs on the back with original Goodyears on the front. I now swap between Pirelli Scorpions and MRTs and no problem. Maybe some of the mud in NZ (I'm currently waiting in a drippy New Plymouth having missed flight to sunny Perth ) has muddied one of the sensors. I would think that the computer would record a fault for the dealer to munch on.Jim Dowell - D4 HSE TDi, 12,000 hydraulic winch & hidden winch mount, MTRs, TyreDog, Traxide 2 x aux battery system, fixed air compressor, Dolium roof rack, MitchHitch.
