Picked up my TDV6 S on Dec 19th. Generally chuffed to bits (will post full impressions to My Discovery when I get a chance).
Apologies if this has been posted before, but I have searched and it appears to be just me...
After 2 1/2 weeks and 1750 miles I have my first problem: when turning the steering wheel to the right and, to a lesser extent, the left, I get a lot of vibration through the steering wheel, a feeling not akin to someone trying to turn the wheel in the opposite direction. There is also a grinding noise from the engine compartment that sounds metallic, possibly from a struggling pump or compressor. I don't think it's wheelarch rub as the wheels/tyres are standard (for an S) and presumably these don't rub, except maybe on full lock (but this vibration occurs as soon as any lock is applied). Also, the vibration feels like is coming from the steering wheel rather than the front wheels. At first I thought it was accumulated snow and ice (as it started after snow fall in Scotland on Dec 27th), but this has since melted and the problem still occurs. The car still steers, but seemingly reluctantly.
Anybody got any ideas? Will book car into dealer, but wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and therefore what to expect when they say (a) they all do that, Sir, (b) we couldn't recreate the problem, (c) you need a new unwarranted part or (d) all of the above.

Indeed, low PAS fluid, as diagnosed by LRA this morning. Stopped vibrating and squeaking as soon as the level was topped up. However, it looks like it's leaking the stuff so it's off to the dealer in the morning for a check-up. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
