coding new key

just picked up new key from dealer cut from chassis no.key fits & turns in ignition but doesn't start or lock & unlock on buttons?is there a sequence to code it to vehicle or has it got to be plugged to a computer?the dealer didn't know until next week.

Dealer job using testbook i'm afraid, tell (ask?) them to read the release notes for WDS ver. 12 Wink
edited to add: <Sorry, just checked, the notes regarding key programming are in the release notes for WDS 11, although WDS 12 is the latest release>

Rob, when you go to get your new key coded onto the car, I'd recommend taking all the keys you have because I had a replacement key recently and the action of having it 'added' to the car made it forget about the other existing key, which typicaly I didn't have withe me, so I had to go back again! Laughing and theeeeennn......???

I cant believe the dealer sold you a key without re-coding it on the car???
