Tyre Pressure Monitors
Does anybody know if you can fit TPM on the HSE model 2006 ? The LR told me that they don't have installed TPM on the Disco, but in the manual shows a Tyre Pressure Monitor warning? I don't know who to believe. It would help to have this TPM installed to all wheels (they cost £10.50 for 4)as this would show which tyre needs attention.
TPM is one of those things that made it into the manual but not the vehicle
There's nothing to stop you installing a 3rd party system though, but you'll need the whole kit, not just the wheel bitsThe End

Can someone you tell me more about 3rd Party set up - It's just that I have a presonal interest in having such a thing fitted, as following the Wales trip I'd like to know straight away when I have a flat (save damaging the Wheel rim maybe). Coffeecup

I was hoping for something that warned me in while I was driving. I guess even I don't need a 'red' valve cap to tell me when the tyre is flat Coffeecup

I do have to my BMW 5 series the TP Control, and it does warn you if one or more tyres needs attention. The problem was that it does not show each one is loosing air. And I found very difficult to spot a slightly deflating tyre... The system is very sensible and I had to check all tyres to get to the one needing air. A set of 4 cheap TPM and a quick walk around the car before driving away would solve this problem.

Did'nt the explosion of the disintegrating tyre, and your head hitting the roof as you bounced off the rock give you enough prior warning.

It did on that occassion.. Thanks.
Just trying to be prepared for another, less dramatic tyre deflating occasion. 8) Coffeecup

Side note: TPMS is finally being added, at least in North America, for both LR3/Disco 3 & RRS starting with recent builds. (We will require it "by law" soon, so there is no choice anyway.)
