TATA part one ?

Thought those affected by this should be informed

This communication serves to inform you of the planned parts warehouse relocation and the implementation of new ordering systems that will enable us to be more efficient and cost effective.

As part of our ongoing strategy to provide our customers with a premium service to compliment the new range of Land Rover vehicles, we have embarked on a strategy that saw the investment and development of both financial and human resources development. We have sent technical support staff across to the UK for training in the home of Land Rover. A new training academy was built, incorporating state-of-the-art equipment and rated amongst the best facilities in SA. Dealer process improvement programmes were rolled out in 2007 and will continue through out 2008/9.

We now need to address the parts-service delivery systems and logistics to further improve the customer experience. The parts and warehouse relocation to Rosslyn will allow us to improve our parts deliver y lead time, the existing reconditioning programme as well as parts delivery lead time and to reduce the cost of ownership making owning a Land Rover more affordable.

The planned parts relocation move is planned for July 2008. This is a major step that will offer many challenges despite almost a year of planning the project. We have taken a number of actions to limit the concerns normally associated with such relocation and need your support to reduce the possible inconvenience that may follow as a result.

Kindly contact your servicing dealer should your vehicle require a service in June and also advise them of any concern you may currently experience with your vehicle. In such an instance you may be required to take the vehicle in for a pre-diagnostic procedure, in order for parts to be ordered in advance, ensuring that the vehicle can be repaired within the quickest possible time.

We would like to assure you, that we have taken all possible steps to ensure a seamless transition process - we do however, apologise for any inconvenience that this relocation may cause and thank you for your support and understanding in this regard.

Kindly contact our Customer Relations Centre should you experience any difficulties at 0860 110 090, they will gladly assist you with your concern

I'll be putting them to the test in the next couple of days - list of parts needing replacement:

1. Upper cubby box lid rattling
2. Sunroof brackets cracked
3. Whatever is needed to fix the clunking steering column / wheel

That should send them on a goose chase. And they had better find them 'cos I'm off to Namibia in early July and the last thing I want is a steering wheel that clunks, a sunroof that may not open, or a Censored rattling cubby lid.

if by this you are reffering to the upper glove box then it is quite involved as a fair bit of the dash is removed as the glove box sub frame needs to be replaced. once that's done the noise just disappears Very Happy then new ones start to appear Evil or Very Mad good luck

In my young(er) days I replied to an advert from LRSA looking for graduates for a whole range of positions. The advert clearly indicated that some positions included company cars - but immediately followed by "regretably not a Land Rover". On quering this I was told that it is because the "maintenance is to expensive" Rolling with laughter
