Fuel flap stuck
Went to fill it up today and the fuel flap stuck in when I pressed it. Managed to use key to prise it open. Have sprayed with WD40 but it still won't pop open, sorry it will if you get angry and really hit it. i supposed another fault to add to the list of annoying niggles.

My wife had this problem and called me from a remote fuel station in Norfolk.
She had the central locking on and had left the key in ignition. The drivers door opened fine, as she pulled handle, but the fuel cap remained locked!!! - until you she took the key out, or pressed the button on dash.
Think I would of killed her if she had used a key- Any damage done?

That is a very good point tsulatana, the flap does lock and unless the key is withdrawn or the doors unlocked it will stay locked with the other doors.

This problem is the subject of Bulletin No.LA310-001.
Some bit of the catch assembly seems to be delicate, and can break.

Don't forget there is also a release trigger inside the car for such problems to overcome (hopefully) the stuck flap.

Had the flap stuck today too; used the release trigger to unlock it and after that it worked normally

Mine won't lock now... after it got stuck locked. My solution was to, after checking the key was out, door unlocked etc, keep tapping it as if it should open. It opened after I had 'tapped' it about 50 times in a minute, but won't lock anymore.
I never forced it, honest. All I did was repetition testing, equivalent to 50 petrol stops in the space of a minute.

Mine did it for the first day of ownership, then not since (touch wood).
I found that locking / unlocking the car a few times eventually freed the lock.
I didn't know that there was a manual release- where is it?
On a similar note, I was speaking with Ronnie Dale at the LRE Skipton.
He says that a common problem with the fuel flap is the 'superlock' at the pump. If you have the superlock on (ie can only open driver's door) and get out to fill the car up at the pumps, then after 60 secs the locking mechanism 'locks' the pin for the fuel flap. Then when you finish fuelling and try to close the flap, it won't close properly due to the locking pin now moved across. If you try and force it then the tab (into which the pin sits) will break. To release the flap manually open the plastic cover that hides the jack and reach for a wire in the upper part of the wheel arch; it's not the wire that controls the electrical release, it's higher than that one. When found just pull it.

That is because fuel is so cheap where you are, no one bothers to steal it. We have to have Brink Security following us here
