Cornering lights when no wire in pin 4 |
|
Anyone had any success in powering up cornering lights when your loom has no red wire on pin 4 other than running power right back to CJB. ? 2009 XS with halogens replced by xenon units , just noticed it has cornering lights in them (only taken 6 months !!) but no red wire on pin 4 on main car loom .
thanks

I thought that the red wire was at the bottom of the connector,
Maybe pin 15 or 16 but this is guessing from memory.
Anyway, there are 2
Things to enable in the ccf settings to enable them

Yes I know about enabling in CCF (no problem as have gap), only got 7 wires on headlamp connector as the red ones for cornering lights not fitted , just don't fancy the hassle of running all the way back to ecu and was wondering if there was a connector engine bay side to look at to see if wires from ecu go to that first (and if they are there ).

you are correct. It is pin 4. (16 is ground)
I can't see any connectors on route. And as you say, it will be no fun running the wires in.
I would be half tempted to install LEDs in there and use them as DRLs (but deep down, I know LEDs won't last been on that long).
You could connect them up to the fog lights.
Both of the above are likely to give you problems at MOT time

I'll not bother , have them on FFRR and wife likes em so when I spotted all the fittings were in the light units I thought bargain she'll like that , lets turn em on with gap but check wires are there first , no wires so no cornering lights as it's way too much hassle for something I'm not fussed about (my runabout/work van she drives RR more ).

Even when factory fitted they are inferior to other makes of car with them fitted, we have a Yetti for a run about and the cornering lights and main beam adaptive xenons are far far superior to the D4. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

There are corner lights and AFS lights.
Most companies just turn on the fog light.
At least LR have specific corner lights, but note they are only 35w halogens.
