Hard suspension
When I go to the car it’s ride hight is good. Start up and drive and the suspension feels good then after a mile or two it goes hard and you can feel every bump in the road. Sometimes when you stop driving and park up,leave the car for a while then drive off again it feels normal them goes hard after a few miles. My garage has a snap on diagnostic but it’s not showing any fault codes. Tyre pressures all good and ride hight in spec. Any ideas anyone. Thanks

Not noticeably,when I stop I’ve checked the trim hight and it’s ok

I’m still struggling with a hard ride. If anyone is familiar with the air pressure on the discovery 4 suspension,when the car is running the pressure on the diagnostics is around 16 bar with the pump running and as soon as the pump stops it drops instantly to 1-2 bar, is this normal?the air reservoir is full but doesn’t show in the readings.thanks

What diagnostics are you using? Can you post live valuesyµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
It looks like Snap-on Diagnostics from the first post - but they have a wide range of products, and I'm not sure which, if any, are really useful with a D3 or D4.

Hi, It’s a Bosch system from a auto electrician I know so I can’t put anything up. It also showed the pump was getting hot and cutting out but we couldn’t work out where the pressure was going

What is your interpretation of "hot"? Time to invest in a GAP IID, you're going to need it anyway. There are too many possibilities without more info from live values. It does not sound like a major issue though!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I think you’re probably right but £400sobs. This Bosch certainly could do a lot including activating the pressure valves and voltage draws It showed it cutting out just over 100 degrees. I’m not sure I’m not barking up the wrong tree because it’s definitely not going down to access hight as I’m driving it just nearly feels like it.

I’ve got my own Delphi diagnostics which covers most things but doesn’t do anything on the EAS so spending £400 just for the EAS hurts

You will need it for far more than just EAS. Anything other than dedicated LR diagnostics has the distinct potential to leave you chasing your tail! You will also need to reset, re calibrate, test, trigger components, update CCF's, and adjust various components over time to name a few.
It will quickly pay for itself and you will get well over £300 of that back if you decide to move on.
Generic readers are fine up to a point, the problem is they can't always access the info/fault you are looking for. When they do, they either miss something, cant decipher, or are unable to interrogate further. So you might as well be asking the dog what's wrong with it.
I have a Bosch KTS for many years now, very expensive kit but it can't do everything on LR so is limited.
Trying to be "all things" to all manufacturers simply does not seem to work.
If you had IID already, I suspect your issue would be well sorted by now. You say the temp reached 100 degC, was that the compressor motor, or the pump head?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

GapIID on its way. I’m excited about what Gstuart was saying about can bus,on furnituremans post,I’m sure Ive seen that come up on one of the diagnostic checks I’ve had. I like bardley thought that if there was to much pressure in the system it would just ride high. Also I wasn’t sure whether I had standard gas shocks inside the air springs?

Does the compressor stop running? - It should run for a maximum of minute if everything is ok and you are not changing height modes, try removing the compressor fuse after the compressor has been running for one minute, do not alter height modes and see how it goes, it could be a faulty relay and the compressor is overheating.
Grasping at straws really without fault codes and live values.It can when others can't,

Yes it does cut in and out ok when the pressure has got to 16.8 bar.
