Dead ignition.
Hi all,
Having completed the replacement of the nearside sunroof drain elbow and obviously removing the cjb and it’s seven connectors, I’ve put it all back together only to find that the car is dead on what seems to be the ignition side of things.
To my frustration, I didn’t try to start the car before I dismantled everything, so I don’t know whether the situation I find myself in is as a result of the water, or something I’ve done.
The only areas of life when a door is opened are the Discovery graphic, date/mileage on the binnacle, and the land rover emblem on the centre screen…..when the s/s button is pressed there is no life whatsoever.Interior lights, central locking, exterior lights, horn etc all work, but nothing that requires at least the first phase of ignition.
I am confident that the seven connectors are suitably seated, I have checked all fuses in the car and engine bay as well as the ignition relay assuming I have tested the right one (near the bottom of the cjb?) as I read the wiring diagram.
The car has been on a ctek since Saturday afternoon and the battery is showing around 13v……I have also changed the brake light switch, ran another earth from the battery and stood on the brake pedal.
Any ideas would be acted upon and appreciated.
TIA,
Mark.Discovery 4 HSE SDV6

To add to this, I also disconnected the main battery before I touched anything, but forgot about the s/s battery, I am also getting 12v at the s/s switch terminals, and continuity between the two centre connectors on the s/s switch when disconnected from any electrical supply.Discovery 4 HSE SDV6

I had exactly the same result when I did my drain tube.
Like you I was totally convinced that the CJB connectors were all good, However... they were not!
One of the block connectors on the rear of the CJB was not seated correctly, refitted the connector and bingo! all sorted.Gone 2016 Landmark D4
