Hi
I have tried searching but can't find anything on this topic as most of the Throttle searches are about hesitation rather than sticking on.
Both me and SWMBO have noticed that when braking, normally when approaching a junction or mini roundabout, the throttle seems to stick on.
I have also noticed it only tends to happen when the engine is warm and that the car seems to keep switching gear, almost like it can't make up its mid wehther to be in 1st or 2nd?
The car is a 2006 D3 2.7 Diesel HSE Automatic that has just clocked 141k miles. Its in stock trim apart from the EGR's blanked off.
Anyone had anything like this or got any ideas?

I thought mine was doing it but was my foot being too far over to the right and touching the throttle
pedal when braking. Was very slight and I couldn't even feel my foot doing it.
If not, WD40 is your friend, may have some stick in the mechanism although i have never heard of this happening.

Good tip is to always make sure the right side of your shoe is touching the kickboard/trim panel to the right of the pedal.
I do this all the time when off roading my two older motors.

Always struck me that for such a large vehicle the gap between the brake pedal and the right-hand plastic trim, where the accelerator pedal is located, is tiny. If I'm wearing trainers etc it's okay, if I'm wearing proper shoes for work the soles are wider, and they catch underneath the brake pedal when on the accelerator

Cheers for the replies although not too sure it is our feet catching the throttle (SWMBO is a size 4!).
Will keep my eye on it and see if anything else happens

OK, it has happened again but in slightly different circumstances.
I had pulled away from some traffic lights and was accelerating gently and the gearbox was almost jumping into a low gear and the revs went up to about 2500 and then it changed up and then changed down again.
I put it into Command Shift and noticed that it was in 2nd gear at about 35mph so put it into 3rd and then 4th and oddly, it changed back into 3rd? (I thought command shift was entirely user input only but obviously not).
It settled down after about half a mile or so but it is still very concerning.
I dont get any warnings on the dashboard or any odd bongs etc.
Anyone got any ideas? Can the Auto box be "reset" by some in built routine or read by a diagnostic machine and re-programmed? Would plugging it into a data logger help?

Have you checked the selector linkage on the side of the gearbox? can be seen from underneath looking over the top of the gearbox undershield, they partially seize.
