Land rover discovery 4 restricted performance

Hi I'm looking for some advice with my disco 4 it keeps going into restricted performance every time I drive it and comes up with codes something like manifold absolute correlation and cylinder 3 glow plug voltage low. I was hoping its something cheaper then getting the glow plug changed if anybody has any ideas or if i just have to bite the bullet and get them changed. TIA

I have the same issue but only when accelerating slowly after initial start-up, not if driving away with enthusiasm.
I replaced both MAF sensors and this didn't cure the fault.
I've used a home made smoker to test the manifolds and they seem to be tight, and I've removed and cleaned the throttle body, associated pipework and sensors but to no avail.

My 'restricted performance' resets itself without the use of a scanner (just let the car stand for a while and then restart) so I'm assuming it's a mechanical fault.

Maybe you could try what I have to see if that eliminates your fault before you buy six glow plugs? Also doesn't it need to be sub-zero for the glowplugs to be needed?

FIX! I replaced the O ring in the throttle body and made sure the clip was seated right and now runs perfect. The box to the front for the throttle body was leaking air and a little bit of oil and was coming off the throttle body slightly when under load once I got it seated right and the clip in fully it now runs fine

I would make sure the box infront is seated right with the clip because mine really looked and felt like it was on properly but I had to push the bottom of the clip in with a screw driver and it like clipped on abit deeper and its been fine since I might have just got very lucky though Very Happy

I have been having the same problem for a long time and have asked in many garages. They all said something different but in general they always said turbo error. Later, the source of the error was determined with the diagnostic connection in the authorized service.

The source of the problem ; Turbo Shut Off Valve
After replacing this problematic part, there was no problem and I did not get the same error again.

Hey, do you have any pictures of the throttle body location and clip your talking about here. I get the restricted performance when i put it under a heavy load. doesn't always happen though.
I have done the turbo drain mod
changed MAF sensors
Cleaned map sensor
made sure the turbo actuator is free
checked for cracked inlets and oil spill on the bonnet sound proofing.

Cheers

My D4 has a strange issue, I get the restricted performance and red triangle, no noise and no loss of power. It normally happens within about half an hour drive, it is in the dealer now and I've been told it is the turbo air shut off valve.
I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Did you sort this issue?? Have the same with mine, if you boot it away from your first pull off it's fine. If you drive slower/softer at about 2000rpm it restricts saying low boost pressure
