Removing my FBH permanently? - apologies for the sacrilege |

Wonder if any of you kind folk could give me some advice.
I live in south east England where it rarely gets below zero degrees, never mind minus six. In all the years I've had my '07 D3 my FBH has never run (except for one time I fitted a remote and tested it), soooo... I'm thinking of removing it permanently as the space would be ideal for another little project I have.
I apologise for speaking such sacrilege on this particular forum but it did seem the logical place to ask. My question is simply, if I -
1. connect the pump inlet hose to the heater outlet hose.
2. seal the end of the fuel line.
3. unplug and waterproof the electric connectors
4. remove FBH/pump/exhaust, and set aside in-case I ever change my mind.
Is that all I have to do, or am I missing a whole bunch of stuff that would upset the ECUs etc?

It is indeed sacrilege!
What you are suggesting sounds fine to me! But if you have any doubts, then you could try disconnecting the electrics first and run for a few days like that, just to make sure there are no electrical issues impacting other ECUs. Previously:
2010 FL2 TD4e GS
‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW - still got this, non-runner on SORN.
‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol
‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever!
Range Rover 2-door V8 (not sure of year - 4-speed box and vacuum diff switch)

...and some run clean enough that you can be totally unaware that they have fired up! Previously:

Many thanks for getting back to me guys.
Thanks Worms for the advice on trial disconnection, excellent plan. I'm guessing my IID will show there's an FBH fault or two but hopefully nothing that stops everything else running. I'll try that as soon as my wheels are back on.
Oh and thanks Peter for correcting me on the temperature it runs at. I did have a trip to Scotland a while ago when it dropped to around zero overnight, but was probably warmer by the time we'd had breakfast so chances are it hasn't run at all.
I'll report back on how I get on, but please, please nobody else take this as encouragement to remove your FBH. They're and excellent bit of kit and should be treasured by all who wish to keep the faith.
