So you're intending to take the engine out twice to do what could very easily have been done the first time?

I think once you have experienced it's removal you might be tempted to revisit that thinking given the work involved. If you do take it out twice you're either mad, or a better man than me.

Well engine is about ready to come out.

It’s all been a case of working out how to get t certain bits. Now I’ve done it once it doesn’t seem so bad Wink

Will post some photos once it’s out and I wil again when I have stripped the engine to see where it’s broken. I was still under the impression the 2.7 spun shells which caused the crank to break rather than just breaking like the 3.0?

Had an operation on Monday so couldn’t do it sooner although I probably shouldn’t of been doing it now lol

The loom for the gearbox someone had routed between the crossover pipe and the engine. Is this correct? Seems an odd place for it to be as it’s subjected to heat from the pipe and engine.

Also these pipes were loose at the back of the engine and the long one went across the top of the gearbox. What are they for?

Guess it’s been out before. Check engine no against logbook

The silver pipes are breathers for the r gearbox and ur transfer box.
They bolt to the head

Yes it’s had an engine fitted before Sad

Do you know the correct routing for the gearbox loom?

Thanks, will refit the pipes when it goes back together. I don’t have the clamp for the pipes to the head.

I’ve just read the thread through from the start.
Just out of curiousity, what made you determine that it was a snapped crank, when you said that it turned over? I thought those two things were incomptible 🤷

Because when I got home after being recovered, my wife turned the key and the front pulley didn’t move when the starter was cranking part of the engine Embarassed

The loom goes under the crossover pipe and the breathers for g/box & transfer case are routed as per pics.

Engines ready to go back in as of this afternoon so hopefully over tomorrow/weekend I can get it in. Waiting for my new tent tools torque wrench to come for the front pulley so I can do the cam belt though. I’ve done the rear belt while engine was out Smile

The bits around the engine are what came off the donor which was an auto. Will be using my nearly new alternator and other bits

I don’t know because I haven’t stripped the old engine yet. Will do that as soon as this replacement one is fitted
