| How do I empty the bluetooth memory? |
|
In need of greater knowledge..again!
I paired my works phone with my d3 just to take one long call while driving, I have deleted the pairing on the phone but every time I turn the ignition on and my work phone is in range it (the phone) keeps asking if I want to accept a new pairing with the disco.
Does anyone know how to delete the phone from the car memory  EGR blanked and plumbing removed

Delete the pairing on the phone. 
It's the phone, that remembers the car, not the other way around. You have to delete both sides, so car and phone wise. Cheers Patrick from Munich

Already tried that, even re paired and deleted the pairing on the phone a second time, as far as the phone knows, the disco doesn't exist until I turn on the ignition then it asks if I want to accept a pairing request from the Land Rover  EGR blanked and plumbing removed

Can you not turn off Bluetooth discovery mode on your works phone ? Sometimes phones have a Bluetooth on and a discoverable mode.

Sounds like you need me to update your Blutooth modules....
It can happen, that a previously paired phone, when unpaired can get the older software modules doing the favourite of having to reconnect each time.
Sometimes, a hard reset does the trick, but always a software update will fix it.
I know it's frustrating and there's no rhyme nor reason why a previously permanently paired module then has to reconnect each time.
But try the hard reset first and see if that helps.  Bodsys Brake Bible

You should be able to delete the pairing from the Disco, I know I did when I got my 2nd hand D3 but I had to look in the handbook to do it. Dave

The only manual I can find online tells me all about how to pair the phone using code 2121, and states a maximum of 8 phones can be paired but no mention how to remove the paired phone from the car!  EGR blanked and plumbing removed

Well, I ended up here having the same question because I have exactly the same reconnect request situation.
More context: I upgraded my D3 with an Android head unit that has its own Bluetooth module. However, every time I unlock my Discovery 3, the Land Rover Bluetooth module tries to reconnect to my phone. I already set my phone to forget this connection so the connection request comes from the vehicle.
Why do I need this removal? It happens that if the Land Rover connection request took place prior the Android head unit was fully available to connect to my phone (power up cycle), for some odd reason I cannot hear voice messages through the Android head unit. I know this because I removed the fuse for the Land Rover Bluetooth module and tested my phone with the Android head unit for functionality.
I now know that I could live with the fuse off for the Land Rover Bluetooth module. Nevertheless, I would like to get the correct process to remove the phone.
BTW, I already searched the internet for this answer and it seems elusive for a Discovery 3.
