Your modified Disco pics
One of the many things I enjoy about owning my Disco is the many ways it can be modified to individual taste. Many of us do it, some think it's sacrilege but whatever your view we all like to see the results of fellow members projects. I'm happy to start the ball rolling with my nearly 10yr old HSE that I've tweaked a bit over the years.

It certainly doesn't look anything like it is nearly 10 years old!
I think the latest rear lights really help add to the look of it as well.

It looked older when I bought it 5yrs ago.
I normally get bored with a vehicle after a couple of years but even with some of the pitfalls of owning a LR I still enjoy it as much as I did the day I drove it for the first time.

Good work, that looks great.
I think that those black rear lights look really good on yours partly because you've got the dark grey arches. Earlier this year I was planning to update mine and saw a photo of yours which was the first time I'd seen an upgrade with the black lights and I really liked it.
However, I've an 09MY also in silver which has colour coded arches, and in the end, I went for the older LED's as I just thought they suited it better.
As you say, personal taste, but just a thought.Arthur.

Cheers for the comments. Have you got a pic of yours showing the rear lights as I'm planning on changing the arches next week

Yep, here you go;
I think that with mine being all silver, the dark lights just stood out too much. Looking at yours again, as you'd still have the tinted glass and the dark side protector, maybe losing the dark arches wouldn't matter. All personal taste of course.
I really do like the look of yours, it all ties together nicely.Arthur.

I get what you're saying with the tints and other black bits it works. I wasn't sure when I tried them off Steves motor from advanced factors and if it wasn't for the fact that he wanted to swap his back to the standard d4 lights I wouldn't have changed them. I'm going to tint side repeaters also with a squirt of black spray paint on the insides. I'll post another pic when arches are on.

Nice one Chris did you colour code it yourself? Have you got a pic of the side taken from the back so I can see how the lights look with silver arches?

Johnny,
My HSE is black leather interior with the piano black inserts, so didn't need anything doing inside.
Exterior.......D4 rear led lamps, black land rover badges front and rear, black hub inserts, black tints to the windows, Black bonnet and boot lettering, Beanie grille.......
Left the number 3 off the rear and the TDV6........looks timeless now.
Not exactly cheap, but cheaper than a d4.2009 spec D3 HSE

Cheers for the pic. I've done the same with the lettering but the forum sticker gives the game away.

I personally think that the black arches on johnnychainsaw's disco look 8) with everything else on the car. They also break the silver up well, with all silver I think it looks a little to much? But that's only what I think! 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone

6 months ago I would have agreed with you and in 2 weeks time I might agree with you again but to bring it more up to date I feel the silver arches work. I'll be keeping the black ones incase I change my mind. In fact II've kept all the old parts so it could go back to its original condition without too much trouble, mind you storage space is running out.

The black arches just look right on your vehicle and avoids the silver fridge look.
I'd keep them.
