Rear Upper Arms - what would you do? |
|
Hi
I know it's been spoken about lots, but I'm lost down a rabbit hole of part numbers and options.
I've had to swap a whole bunch of front suspension bits, hubs, full brake replacement front and rear, then found the LHS rear upper arm bush is shot. I'm ideally looking to go cheap with this, but aware that with somethings, cheap is false economy.
Going to swap both arms myself (no press or anything to swap just the busehes, and the arms look original and rusty as well), so labour cost isn't an issue
Is the only difference between D4 and RRS version the bush, and is the RRSport bush better?
Would you buy cheap, with a view that all these parts are the same, and it'll last 10 years, or go for better because it'll outlast the vehicle?
On LRDirect.com they have Standard britpart for £70 a side (without bolt kit), or on advanced factors they have HD kit at £300 for both side with bolts.
There are 100 other versions of part numbers, suppliers and options, I'm just trying to simplify it.
2012 SDV6, at 160k miles so far, and planning to keep as a forever car, if that'd make your decision different.
