Genuine Auxiliary Driving Lamps Wiring and CCF edit
Hi folks.
I've got a 2008 D3 HSE
I fitted the genuine wiring kit for the auxiliary driving lamps.
The switch wiring appears to be working fine. The switch LED activates when the lights are on and it sends a ground signal to the C0580 connector on pin 13.
I also have the wiring setup correctly inside the engine bay Fuse box using the connector inside the fuse box. If I jumper the relay, the lights work fine.
I also updated the CCF using IID tool to set the "Auxiliary Driving Lamps" to "fitted"
But still it doesn't look like the signal is being sent to the relay to turn on the lights.
Does anyone know what I need to do to get this working?
And how can I further diagnose where the issue might be?
thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answered my own question.
Ok. I’m officially an idiot.
It was working as intended.
You need high beam to enable the lights.
For some reason I assumed it was enabled when the light on the switch was enabled.

Hi
Good to see ur all sorted out and up and running , don’t worry as I also make mistakes like that 🤣
May I plse ask also managed to get a genuine spot light loom and wondering if u found it difficult to install plse
Must confess because I’ve not got a sunroof in mine I got hold of a carling switch and will fit that in place of the sunroof switch instead of fitting it by the side of the instrument panel
Will also be fitting my aftermarket 9” spots onto my front soft nudge bar that all needs to be fitted
Many thks and hope u didn’t mind me asking

No worries about asking.
The genuine harness comes in three bits.
1. That connects the main fuse box to the lights to supply power when switched from inside.
2. A second harness that goes from the switch to a plug inside the car that sends a signal to the ECU to power the lights.
3. A small piggyback harness that hooks into the light switch to grab some power and know when the lights are turned on.
The install was pretty easy and you don’t have to figure out your own relay wiring or get anything through the firewall.
The part number is VUB502860 I think.
That comes with the switch, wiring and relay. This is designed for lights on the front bumper or a frame.
Instructions can be found by googling and you can see if you think it’s difficult or not.
For me it was pretty straightforward.
Hardest part was removing the green connector under the glove box. That was a bit trickier than expected.
There is a 10mm nut next to that connector. Remove it to give a bit of flex to get your finger behind and press the release catch.

Bless u for such great detail , plus the handy tip ref the green connector , thk u
Funny enough I wondered if I had to get a loom through the bulkhead, handy that it doesn’t req it
Have done one before but that was on my old FL1 that needed to be plugged into switches, modules, fuse box etc , so shouldn’t be to bad doing one wire at a time
Managed to also find the spot light mounting plates for the nudge bar which was a right result , plus was extremly pleased finding that genuine loom , think it was on eBay and hear now the nudge bar and looms are getting harder and harder to obtain
Thinking I might have to extend the wiring that goes to the switch seeing I’ll be mounting in the overheard light cluster instead of the instrument panel , plus thought the switch will hopefully be less distracting of a night time in the overhead light cluster , couldn’t believe the carling switch fitting so well
Even got hold of a sliding boot floor and even those are going for silly money
Also if it’s handy managed to find the instructions thks to your good self

So just found the looms as wondered if there were any extra numbers but sadly not
Also managed after alot of searching found some spot light connectors seeing I won’t be fitting genuine ones , will cut one end off but they fit perfectly , plse let me know if u want me to find the part numbers for those short spot light connector looms
Took better pictures of the 3 x parts so at least if one comes up is a good comparison for u
