Tixover (Portrax) pay and play day
Took my Disco4 to Tixover Quarry today, had a blast, £25 well spent
Just wondering if anyone else goes to pay and play days, would be good to meet some fellow forum members.

Using the D4 for what it was made for!
Always interested in joining up with other forum members for days out either at pay and play or greenlaning

Haven't been to Tixover. Did go to the nearby Yarwell site a few years ago but it's now, I think, a nature reserve.
Yarwell was fun but there were the usual idiots who just drove around like lunatics - including at ridiculous speed near people stood around having a chat. BUt other than the idiots, it was good fun and I followed a friend's old Defender around much to his surprise: everywhere he went I just followed in my RRS and even made some stuff look easy compared to him having to work hard at it. Only a couple of very sharp breakovers caused any moments for the RRS (where the Defender didn't notice them).Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I've been tempted a number of times but the risk of damaging my every day car has always put me off. All I've done is a collection of guided laning tours which have been great.
Is it somewhere you'd take a daily?

I do. Been 3 or 4 times and no issues. Planning to go back on Sunday.
The kids come with me now as well and love it.
Tixover is good as they’ll tell you where to go to avoid the deep mud and water.
The water is very sandy and gets in the radiators. So if you go near any make sure you take the grill off and flush this out a lot.
There’s a whole mix of winch trucks, old beat up 4x4s to kitted out discos of every age as well as brand new defenders and pick ups.
Good mix of people and everyone I’ve spoken to is friendly.
Sounds like I work there, but I don’t. 🤣🤣Disco 4 2012 HSE, Nara Bronze

Been thinking of going over there for a while.
If you check out the google maps location and hit the street view you get a drone camera view of the site so you can see what’s there

Tixover is used by various media / YouTube reviewers for 4x4 / SUV reviews so you can get views of it from reviews too. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
