Front muffler/silencer overheating - is this dangerous?

Hi!

Last night I came home from a short drive of about 40 minutes with 5 min break in the middle. Backing into my driveway I smelt a vague smell of exhaust or something burnt.

Getting out of the vehicle I heated distinct "popping" sounds like when a Sauna heater is cooling down. I located the sound to what I think is underneath car and the front muffler. Heat was emanating from it and there was a smell of burnt metal. Kind of similar to bad malfunctioning breaks of you know how that smells.

Check out this video I made: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10_ee4tnzJ...p=drivesdk

Does anyone know what could be wrong? Is it safe to drive the car anyway? What can I do att this point?

Any advice most welcome!
