Vehicle: 2016 D4 HSE
So, I’m getting really annoyed with the DAB in my D4. The ability to maintain reception across all channels is patchy, with some channels being much worse than others. Typically these are the ones I want to listen to.
Either I get volume in and out or an ear piercing squeak noise as it goes in and out and then silence. Times Radio reception seems the worst.
The aerial connectors are in place on the rear screen. Are they just rubbish DAB units or can they go wrong?

Feature of the model sir.
What do you mean you don't want Character in a vehicle?
These fantastic cars are full of it.

Yes - my 2009 (2010MY) D4 is doing the same!
Intensely irritating. One moment the radio is working on all stations, or my iPod is playing, and the next - Bosh!! sudden silence! No crackle, click or burst of static, just complete loss of sound. And it doesn't come back until the vehicle has been switched off for a while, maybe even 24 hours later.
I'm thinking either a problem in the head unit, or with the volume controls on the steering wheel, or a faulty amplifier?, or just a plain bad earth on the speaker system - or maybe a combination of all of them! Unlikely to be the aerial, as my iPod playback is affected too.
Anybody on here solved a similar problem? Or be able to recommend a process to find a solution. Better still, is there anyone on here who is a competent auto electrician who is able to fix the problem for me?
I'm in South-West Essex, on the Herts & Essex border. I’m a Disco 4 believer. What a vehicle!

are the later cars still "plain" DAB ? I know some have done (or looked at ) upgrading to DAB+ as many stations are moving to there, but IIRC it was £500 or more to do it.
edit: just remembered that for a couple of weeks before Christmas, mine decided I was in Liverpool and I lost loads of stations. Reverted to "Manchester" all by itself and important stuff (Planet Rock) came back. Unfortunately, so did Smooth and other 5h1t3 that SWMBO listens to.

Good point! I know Classic FM has moved to DAB+, but I tend to listen to stations on the FM band, so my vehicle's loss of audio is definitely part of my D4's "character" albeit a most unwelcome part.
Would really appreciate a solution, or suggestion as to a way forward, from you knowledgeable guys on here. I’m a Disco 4 believer. What a vehicle!

plug a bluetooth receiver into the aux port and get your music via your smart phone.
my lad does that, but I've loaded a 32Gbyte memory stick with loads of tracks and plugged it in inside the armrest.

Is it possible to swap out the DAB receiver from a newer LR vehicle such as a D5?
I never had any DAB issues in my other Land Rovers so it must be the receiver?

I've done the same, but IIRC with a rather larger capacity stick.
I've found DAB to be very patchy, FM is usually OK.

I lose signal occasionally but not often enough to make me want to do anything about it (yet).
I also noticed that I have a fault code relating to DAB: B1A56-11 DABM - Digital Audio Broadcast Module; Antenna Circuit; Permanent. 2013 Orkney Grey D4 SDV6 HSE
