EGR replacement
Hi, I have been getting the P045-77 egr valve stuck closed warning in my d4 3.0L tdv6 a lot lately so going to have to replace it. I can find lots of videos and info about the the process for the 2.7 type but very little for this one like mine on the passenger side.

I would greatly appreciated any hints and tips.

Thanks for your reply, that’s a different engine and different valves. There’s loads of info for this type but can’t find any for mine.

I asked a LR mechanic if it was possible and he said it was and had done a couple but that was as much as I could get out of him. I think he also said it was harder than TDV6 ones but that may only because you have to remove so much more gubbins to gain access what with stop start etc.

I’m hoping that someone on here has replaced this type of egr and will take pity on me.

Yea, just watched it again and realised it's not what you were looking for, or I for that matter, as I'll no doubt be in the same situation if mine need done on the same engine.
Been looking at a copy of the workshop manual and don't look forward to having to do a replacement.

hey OP, did you eventually get it done? I need this done too. Rang Land Rover and they quoted $1800AUD just for the part (LR018752).

I didn’t replace mine although I have a replacement sitting on the shelf. I sprayed the linkage and spindles with wd 40 silicone lubricant and the fault stays clear for six months and repeat the process.Been like that for five years now.

Thanks for the quick reply. The steel pipe that is part of the EGR unit is leaking coolant. I think the previous owner did something similar to you as there is silicon around the area. I thought I'd do the right thing and get the whole unit replace but didn't realise how expensive they were.
Any chance you're in Melbourne? As happy to buy the unit off you if not in use.
