Question regarding ebp/propshaft

Hi I hada centre propshaft bareing fail and due to this it caused damage to the heat shield cover and ripped the epb cable apart the one that runs from the switch to the module at the rear . So can just this cable be replaced as my local dealer wants to supply the whole thing at 888.00 plus fitting and vat also 570.00 plus fitting and vat to fitting for the propshaft I can't find the cover thing anywhere... this is on my 08 d3 tdv6 please any advice, parts etc would be very great full
I will type up and add pictures better when I get a chance I can't upload the pictures for some reason

The emergency release cable is not available separately from the complete module. Without pics it's difficult to advise a repair, but see if it can be repaired!

It won't stop the module working as it's for the emergency release, but you really would want to have it in case the system ever fails. As for the prop shaft a new centre bearing can be had for around £50. BUT, it's not a straightforward swap, and presents a tricky operation for the inexperienced. That said, if you can do it yourself, or know someone competent enough who can, it will save you cash and you'll keep your original shaft.
